Situated at the extreme eastern terminus of the Neelum Valley approximately two hundred kilometers from Muzaffarabad and sitting at an elevation of 2286 meters above sea level Taobat is widely celebrated as the crown jewel of Upper Neelum. Serving as the final accessible village in Azad Jammu and Kashmir before the Line of Control Taobat is where the crystal clear Gagai Nullah meets the roaring Neelum River forming a breathtaking landscape of wide emerald pasturelands dense pine and deodar forests and rustic wooden mountain hamlets.
