Overview
Legendary among global high altitude expeditions the K2 Base Camp Trek through Concordia and the massive Baltoro Glacier is one of the most magnificent mountain trekking routes on earth. Located deep within the Karakoram Range of Shigar Valley near Skardu the trek follows the roaring Braldu River from Askole village onto the sixty two kilometer long Baltoro Glacier. Trekkers traverse surreal glacial landscapes passing iconic granite spires like Trango Towers and Cathedral Peaks before arriving at Concordia known as the Throne Room of the Mountain Gods. At Concordia four eight-thousand-meter peaks including K2 Broad Peak Gasherbrum I and Gasherbrum II converge in a breathtaking three hundred sixty degree mountain amphitheater. Reaching an elevation of over five thousand meters at K2 Base Camp and the challenging Gondogoro La Pass this trek offers the ultimate high wilderness adventure for seasoned mountain trekkers.
