Overview

Located in the heart of lower Nagar Valley Minapin Village is a historic high altitude settlement famed for its traditional mountain charm fruit orchards and ancient canal systems. Positioned at the base of the Karakoram range Minapin serves as the primary starting point for one of the most accessible and rewarding short trekking routes in Gilgit Baltistan. The trail leads trekkers through lush juniper forests along the tumbling Minapin River up to Hapakun pasture and onwards to Taghafari also known as Diran Peak Base Camp and Rakaposhi Base Camp. Situated at 3300 meters Taghafari offers an extraordinary up close vantage point of the massive North Face of Rakaposhi and the icy slopes of Diran Peak. The village offers a serene getaway rich in local hospitality fruit harvesting and mountain photography making it a favorite stop for trekkers and nature lovers.
