Overview

Known as the Land of Giants Deosai National Park is the second highest high altitude alpine plateau on earth positioned at an average elevation of 4114 meters above sea level. Spanning across vast rolling plains surrounded by gentle snowcapped mountain ridges Deosai is a protected biological sanctuary created to preserve the endangered Himalayan brown bear. During summer months from July to September the entire plateau transforms into a vibrant carpet of colorful wildflower blooms clear glacial streams and pristine wetlands. The heart of the plateau features Sheosar Lake a high altitude alpine lake offering breathtaking reflections of Mount Nanga Parbat on clear days. Visitors can experience wildlife safari drives wilderness camping wild trout fishing and panoramic landscape photography across one of the most unique high altitude ecosystems in Asia.
