Overview

Situated at an elevation of 4694 meters in Nagar Valley Rush Lake is one of the highest alpine lakes in the world and the highest lake in Pakistan. Reached via a thrilling multi day trek starting from Hoper Valley the trail crosses Hoper Glacier and Barpu Glacier leading trekkers through high alpine pastures and dramatic ridge crests. The lake itself is a serene body of crystal clear water that reflects the surrounding snowcapped giants including Spantik Golden Peak Miar Peak Malubiting and Ultar Sar. Reaching nearby Rush Peak at 5098 meters rewards hikers with an extraordinary panoramic vantage point over the Karakoram mountain range including distant views of K2 and Broad Peak on clear days.
